RESEARCH
Theory of electric conduction in transition metal compounds.
Anomolous electric conduction in transition metal oxides is currently
the center of attentin in codensed matter physics.
We are studying manganites and cuprates to elucidate
mechanisms of colossal magnetoresistance and high-Tc superconductivity, respectively.
Theory for Nanotechonological applications.
We are intersted in the dynamical response
of clusters and molecules for their possible device applications.
We also concern the self-organization of those materials, and
manipulation by STM or AFM.
Quantum geometric phase theory.
As a
new quantum mechanical phenomenon, quantum geometric
phase has been drawn much attention.
We are doing research on the generation and control of
electric current (or charge transfer) using
the geometric phase idea.
The geometric phase is also important in non-adiabatic
phenomena that often occur in chemical reactions.
We are also interested in such processes.
